Pro HVAC lists 1,018 Ohio cities and communities served, from the big metros to townships where only one or two contractors cover the roads. Each city page notes local housing, neighborhoods and ZIP codes. The Pro HVAC homepage explains how the referral line works.
Franklin County. Most homes run forced-air gas furnaces; newer subdivisions use high-efficiency condensing furnaces vented through PVC sidewall pipe, while German Village, Victorian Village, Clintonville and the University District have a lot of rental housing with pre-1990 thermostat wiring and no common wire.
Cuyahoga County. Pre-war hydronic and steam heat in Ohio City, Tremont and Detroit-Shoreway, two-family doubles on one system, and lake-effect snow that packs sidewall flue terminals.
Hamilton County, along the Ohio River valley. Over-the-Rhine, Hyde Park, Clifton, Northside and Mount Adams have many pre-war homes, some converted from radiators to forced air, with equipment in tight hillside basements.
Lucas County in flat northwest Ohio. Wind off Lake Erie, older Old West End houses on hot-water radiators, and a high water table that makes condensate pumps and float switches matter.
Summit County on the western edge of the snowbelt. Much of Highland Square, West Hill and Firestone Park predates 1930, steep lots and walk-out basements are common, and older wiring often lacks a common wire.
Montgomery County in the Miami Valley. Damp basements and a high water table, hot-water radiators in the Oregon District and St. Anne's Hill, and post-war ranches with ductwork in unconditioned crawl spaces.
A small community in Providence Township, Lucas County, ZIP 43547, near Whitehouse, Grand Rapids and Waterville, on former Great Black Swamp ground. Most households heat with natural gas, and many homes predate 1990.
Benton Township, Ottawa County, ZIP 43432, near Rocky Ridge, Genoa and Elmore. Detached houses of every age, unheated farmhouse basements, and many homes heating with propane, so a low tank is a fair first check.
Newbury Township, Geauga County, ZIP 44065, at about 1,240 feet in lake-effect snow country. Colonials, ranches and farmhouses on wooded lots, heated by gas, oil, propane, wood or electricity.
A township outside Graytown or Laurelville may be covered by only one or two contractors, and a technician heading to Neapolis or Dresden often has a long drive. A referral line that already knows who covers which county saves an evening of calling around.
